San Joaquin County Public Health Services Master Plan

In order to meet the needs of the growing population in San Joaquin County, a master plan for a replacement building was completed to consolidate Public Health Services and Health Care Services Agency programs. The project will also include a new health clinic and Public Health Services labs with a Biosafety Lab – Level 3 (BSL-3), for testing tuberculosis, encephalitis, West Nile and other viruses in a modern facility.

The preferred building and site concept takes into consideration employee and visitor safety and separation, increased natural light with a narrower building floorplate, and connection to the outside with outdoor break areas fostering a sense of well-being for all who use the facility. The site and building concept was used for study and test fit purposes to assist the County in planning.
