Metal’s Mettle – Scratching the Surface of Potential

Metal. It is economical. It is recyclable. It is beautiful. And it is a material Dreyfuss & Blackford Architects’ designs often incorporate. Thanks to digital fabrication, if you can fold it with paper, you (or better yet, a robot “you”) can fold it in metal. Who knew? We did.

Case in point (or fin, as the case would be here), the University of California, Davis Medical Center parking structure. The Academic Information Resource Center at California State University, Sacramento is another example. These projects not only illustrate metal’s mettle, but are a testament to our firm’s creative use of the material.
